Visits, Vistas, and Visas

We have been very grateful for some visits of family and friends since we moved into our house. Some visits were more focused on making more progress with house projects, others were more focused on giving us a break and an opportunity to rest and relax. We were excited for Anna and Kelly from Harbor to visit. We were able to do some sightseeing with them like driving up the Penteli mountain to see where the marble stones for the acropolis were quarried. There was also a cave, a Byzantine chapel, and of course a nice view of Athens. We also enjoyed a couple game nights together. It was a great break for us.

Having our visa paperwork in process has helped us move forward with living life here. In just the past week we have gone car shopping, had our shipment picked up in Colorado to start it’s journey over, and hired accountants to help with tax document filings.

Our planning and focus has transitioned from a very short term view of “what are we doing today” to more medium term of “what are doing this week and next”, and even a little “what are we doing this summer” planning. I even found time to get a haircut!

Jessica and Sahar met with a foundation who helps with grants to non profits for big projects. Previously this foundation has helped with the purchase of clinic equipment like medical beds. It seemed to be a productive meeting and we are praying that they will provide much needed funding for helping OneHeart.

Recently at the clinic there was a man who has been living with a very damaged foot. It was injured in a bombing while he was at work. He made the journey all the way to Greece walking with his damaged foot. It will take lots of tests and surgeries to get his foot healed. We hope he will be open to hearing the Gospel while he is being healed.
